A Report tree is a hierarchical structure that can contain standard SAP reports and/or user-defined reports.

In an R/3 System, there can be any number of report trees, and the nodes of each report tree can offer any number of reports and pregenerated lists.

SAP delivers a standard hierarchy of report trees containing reports across a range of applications, but you can modify the structure to create solutions that gives users access to just the information they require. Some users may need to start many reports, while others may only want to run one or two reports.

Suppose, the requirement is to add a new report node under Production reports in the transaction ‘+C06’.

Step1: Select the primary node, here ‘British American Tob. (M) Bhd.’ and then goto edit menu & select ‘Node attributes’.

Step2: Now read the primary node name from the Attributes, here ‘ZRPM’.

Step3: Then goto Transaction SERP and enter the Report tree name (here ‘ZRPM’).

Step7: Finally, the new report is attached to the report tree.

In the same way multiple reports can also be added under the same node.

e.g. under the node ‘TIM-SB Cost of sales analysis’, 3 reports are attached.
